Parallels at the End of a Leash

While taking my dog, Audrey, for her evening walk tonight, I had an experience that paralleled an encounter Ms. Kitty had while walking the quadraped a week earlier.

Audrey is, admittedly, adorable.  She looks like a muppet, so we don’t often think much of it when people tell us that she’s cute.

Last week, just like tonight, a stranger approached saying how cute Audrey was, how precious she looked.

Last week, just like tonight, the stranger was thanked.

Last week, just like tonight, the stranger then looked at the person walking her and said something to the effect of, “just like you.”

Last week, just like tonight, that stranger was a dude.
